OHAI Put Smiles on Over 100 Cleft Patients in July

Oral Health Advocacy Initiative (OHAI), in partnership with Smile Train, USA has continued to put smiles on the faces of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and the vulnerable women and children in the country through her Free Cleft Surgery Program.

The 10 years partnership between Oral Health Advocacy Initiative and Smile Train has transformed the lives of over 3,500 cleft patients in 32 states in Nigeria including the FCT, from 2011 to 2019.

In the month of July 2019, Oral health Advocacy Initiative performed free surgeries on over 100 cleft patients in 5 states of the federation, including, Benue, Zamfara, Bayelsa, Yobe and Osun states respectively.

The Executive Director of OHAI, Dr. Ver-or Ngutor has expressed the organization’s commitment to sustain the cleft program among her other health intervention programs for universal health coverage and security in Africa.
