Human and Health Resource Development Program

The Human and Health Resource Development Program of the Oral Health Advocacy Initiative (OHAI) is committed to strengthening healthcare systems in Nigeria and beyond. This program focuses on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and capacity of healthcare professionals, particularly in underserved regions, to improve the quality of health services delivered to communities.

The program involves various training initiatives, capacity-building workshops, and educational outreach for healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, dental professionals, and community health educators. These activities are designed to bridge the skills gap, particularly in rural areas where healthcare resources and access to skilled professionals are limited. Through strategic partnerships with government bodies, international organizations, and local institutions, OHAI ensures that healthcare workers receive the best training available, with an emphasis on international standards and best practices.

Additionally, the program addresses the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals, providing resources and incentives for those working in marginalized and remote areas. By investing in the professional development of healthcare workers, OHAI aims to create sustainable healthcare systems that can respond effectively to the evolving health needs of communities.

Since its inception, OHAI’s Human and Health Resource Development Program has trained thousands of healthcare professionals, significantly improving the delivery of services in oral health, maternal and child health, infectious diseases, and other critical areas. With its continued focus on training, advocacy, and resource mobilization, OHAI remains committed to building a stronger healthcare workforce that will positively impact health outcomes across Africa.
